€4.12 per install in a Japan market test.
The test delivered 250 monthly installs on a €1,000 ad spend at a €4.12 cost-per-install — a 24% improvement over the segment average Medusa measured against. On an indie-to-AA test budget, that read was strong enough to justify scaling into a full campaign without burning runway on guesswork.

01The challenge
A European mobile studio wanted to validate whether their F2P simulation game could find traction in Japan before committing to a full launch. The target — women aged 18-35 in Tokyo and Osaka — is one of the most competitive segments on Japanese stores, dominated by entrenched local titles with deep cultural resonance.
02What we did
We ran our Japan Market Test package at €1,000/month ad spend: deep localization covering language, cultural references, and gameplay elements tuned for Tokyo/Osaka tastes; comprehensive App Store Optimization to improve organic visibility; and paid creative tailored for Japanese FB, Instagram, X, and YouTube audiences.
The goal was a sharp cost-per-install read on a modest budget before scaling.
