01The challenge
On an app store, the listing is the first impression.
Japanese users judge an app in seconds from its listing: the title, the visuals and the words on the cards. A translated listing reads as foreign — and gets skipped.
Japanese listings also follow their own design conventions, which differ from Western ones.
02What we did
Localization, listing optimization and card design.
We localized the apps into natural Japanese and optimized their store listings for the Japanese market.
We designed the listing cards to Japanese graphic-design best practices, so each listing reads as if it had been made in Japan.
